I love Meinl. They make some of the best sounding percussion and cymbals around, and not sure what models the previous reviewer has played but they make plenty of thin, dark expressive cymbals. This, however, is garbage. It sounds awful. The only cymbal from the HCS line that works is the 8" bell, and maybe the new stacks and trash crash but I have not played these.

I know this is cheap, but there's a reason. I got one because it was the most affordable option, but there is no value in the sound. It's clangy, heavy, and just has a terrible tone. It behaves more like a really awful crash than what it is -- a really awful splash. Personally, I've always strongly disliked Meinl because I find all of their cymbals sound similarly heavy and clangy.
