The Meinl 12" Travel Series Rope Tuned Djembe has a synthetic shell and Head. Meinl set out to create a lightweight drum that produces high-quality traditional tones. They were very successful. The Traveler produces full bass tones, accents, slaps and harmonics. With this 12" Djembe the bass tones are fully and projected. The synthetic nature of the head and shell makes this instrument very resistant to the natural elements making it perfect for hikes, camping trips or outdoor gigs.
