The Meinl 8" Travel Series Rope Tuned Djembe has a synthetic shell and Goat Skin Head. Meinl set out to create a lightweight drum that will produce high-quality traditional tones. They were very successful. The Traveler will produce full bass tones, accents, slaps, and harmonics. Even with the smaller 8" Djembe, the bass tones will be full and rounded. The hand selected goat skin drum head and synthetic shell will make this instrument very resistant to the natural elements making it perfect for hikes, camping trips or outdoor gigs.
