The Meinl Mike Johnston Groove Bell is a blend between traditional rock cowbells and world music cowbells. Meinl and Mike Johnston spent three years testing designs and alloys to create a bell that sits perfectly in the mix. The Groove Bell is intended to be a drum set bell but two included magnetic bell mutes (one large, one small) allow the player to adjust the sound of the bell to fit their needs. The Groove Bell delivers a dry sound rich with overtones. When the small mute is applied it reduces overtones, when the large mute is applied it lowers the pitch of the bell. Experiment with the positioning of the mutes to create your sound.
