Meinl Subwoofer Cajon With American White Ash Front Plate - Product Information

The Meinl Subwoofer Cajon already produces a big, tight bass tone but with it's front facing sound ports this tone gets extra projection. Big bass tones will cut through on stage or in a studio situation. The Cajon also features an American White Ash front plate. The internal snare wires and adjustable tone, via the top corner screws, produces a great sharp slap sound. This is a very well balanced versatile cajon.

Dimensions- 11 3/4" Width x 19 3/4" Height x 12 1/4" Depth.

Nica cajon. I would prefer one modification.

Comments:

This is a nicely made, fine sounding cajon. My only criticism is that I would have preferred a better adjustment option for removing the snare sound. According to Meinl, you can adjust the snare sound by adjusting the 2 top corner screws on the front plate. However, I did not find this to be very effective, and for all practical purposes, the snares are fixed against the front plate. For me, this defeats the purpose of buying a "sub-woofer" cajon, if the main thing I hear is the rattling of the snares. Therefore, I removed the front plate, and took off the snares entirely, After putting the front plate back on, it gave me the fatter, deeper sound that I was looking for.
