THE perfect mallets for me! Just a hair heavier than the Toni Micelli's which is great for me, and the tone is exquisite! Articulate, and clear at ALL dynamic levels, and very responsive to my hands. Even when I really lay into the bars, it cuts like a knife, but somehow manages to maintain the deep tone of the bar. Most of the all purpose mallets seem to crack out a little bit when hitting REALLY hard. These mallets find a way to just get louder, but with NO real effect on the tone quality. And the impact cushion actually helps my playing. The faster passages are a little bit easier to play now that my grip is a lot bigger than usual. Great mallet than I use for ANY and EVERY playing situation!!! Just hope they endure. Haven't had them for very long yet. : ) Thanks Mike and John!
