I'm doing shows most of the time. This really comes in handy. I switched out the beater with a Stoessel.

Well...ok, but

Comments:

Well, I guess it worked okay. But the manufacturer's website says you can do rolls on it. I would have liked to have known that the rolls will sound terrible before I bought it. A video demonstrating the effectiveness of the machine would be nice. If there is a "secret" to playing smooth, one-handed rolls (like you can do when playing the triangle traditionally) I would like to know what the secret is. It might be worth the money if you were able to vary the striking placement of the beater on the triangle. For the money, you could rig up something cheaper and more effective - like a good triangle beater hanging on a cord, which you could then drop without worrying about returning it to a trap table. The way the machine exists now I tell my students that it is hard to justify the cost. I wish the manufacturer's website included videos (but can understand why it doesn't). If you're not terribly concerned about the timbre of the triangle in the piece(s) you're performing, this machine might work for you.
