Great for playing in Jazz groups

I purchased these mallets about a month ago. I tend to use heavier mallets as I play with a jazz quintet on a regular basis. At first I thought the mallet heads might be too light and my vibes would not be loud enough. I discovered that the vibes really project with the M237 mallets without being too bright. They are very well made and balanced. I recommend them for playing in jazz groups.

Disappointed comparing to the Mediums

Comments:

I would have given these a 5, but compared to the M235s (mediums), these are softer in attack and volume. Also, one of my M237 mallet's core is crooked, affecting its sound compared to my other, straight mallet. Musser's QC is not looking good, I hope to get this resolved. If you are buying these mallets along with the mediums, expect these to be a medium soft...
