Naranjo-Tierra Pura arr. Beall (StS/Solo part)-Solo gyil/wind ensemble - Product Information
Tierra Pura by Valerie Naranjo (orchestrated by Andrew Beall) is the fourth movement of a concerto for solo gyil and wind ensemble. This item includes the solo gyil part and the wind ensemble study score. The Gyil (pronounced JEE-lee) is one of the grandparents of the mallet keyboard family. Made from fourteen wooden slats that are suspended, on a frame, over calabash gourds, it sounds like the Western marimba, yet more earthen in character.
