invaders are great

Comments:

I think the invader pad has a great sound, and it is one of the best pads for its money. i have had my red invader with the Mylar/Kevlar head and i have had no problems whatsoever, no chips or cracks. there are a few scratches but that is from me lending it out and people taking poor care of it. with this pad comes three replacement center pieces i have looked this up several times and i have yet to find a tutorial, i do not want to just go at it and waste a replacement.

Okay.. enough

Comments:

I gave this pad a 4 because it is extremely good, but I always believe there is room for improvement. But I do have to stomp something out just because I am SO very tired of it- The silly little boys coming on here with their endless griping and hyping Xymox pads. Xymox is 100% a glamour line of practice pads. They are strictly meant to be "cool". Nothing else. The pads themselves are "good". That's it. Nothing more. With real quality time spent practicing, they fall apart. I have product tested over 25 different pads (Even more if you count the ones I have issued to students). The xymox was consistently one of the worst performing. The rims dont last. The snare "Response" (Not that I consider this remotely important" starts to suffer sound dampened and not like a snare pad, and they are the weakest laminates made by any of the major brands. But because they look "cool", idiot kids are spending 3 or 4 times more than they have to and waiting up to 18 MONTHS (yes... MONTHS) just to get the freaking pad. Xymox is the very worst excuse for a company in terms of customer service, but again, they have the current hip brand that all of the kids want and people are stupid and will pay top dollar for a mediocre product which performs at a level far below that of a competing product. The simple Vic Firth stock pad will last 5 times as long and do the exact same thing. Allow you to practice. All of this nonsense about needing a real rim and snare response is just that. For hundreds of years, some of the best drummers in the world were trained and molded on a simple slab of wood with a piece of gum rubber on it. For god sake kids... STOP wasting your money! STOP waiting 6 months to a year, and START practicing now! STOP worrying about how cool your freaking pad looks and worry about your technique and building some chops! L

thumbs down.

Comments:

I gave this a 1 because of how bad this product is. I had the grey version of this laminate, and It all basically cracked and fell apart. It lasted maybe two weeks before the first chips started to show up. everyone ive ever seen with these pads has this issue. Save your money and get a xymox pad.

Why I like OffWorld the most

Comments:

I've own an OffWorld Invader pad for about a good five years now and I loved it ever since. It can take a beating if you ask me. I think this pad personally delivers great sound quality, has great rebound and just really gives you clarity of what you are playing. Invader pads come in different sizes so you don't need to worry about taking a 12" snare pad everywhere you go. They aren't ridiculously expensive and if you feel that they are. Don't expect to have a great pad. They're fairly light, have a cool finish to them. Made of different material other than gum rubber so you can get a different feel to help your chops (ability to play something very well). Long story short Invader pads from my opinion are the best compared to many other brands of practice pads out there today (year 2014).
