Dance bells are the life of the rhythm-they are the time-keeper and the director. The Nigerian word, "agogo" is derived from the Igbo word for "time".

Many different kinds of dance bells are offered, from the original African Agogo bells to the familiar sounds of the gonkogwe bells. All of our bells come with a striker.

These traditional bells are made in Togo and Ghana by the local blacksmiths using hand bellows and rudimentary forges. Used to mark the beat in many ceremonies, this bell is one of the most important parts of many percussion ensembles.

The two tones offer many possible musical variations. You can dampen the bell against your leg while you play.
