Add a Little Jingle to your regular Cajon

Comments:

I added mine to a Meinl modern style with snare CAJ1EB-M - they adhere fine, with the adhesive discs added (non-marring.) I second the point about the brass jingles being quite a bit dull, until I switched one of the steel jingles with one of the brass ones, and have 2 1/2-1/2 jingles, and now both are equally resonant. The brass isn't the best quality, so switching the jingles out for any standard tambourine ones would work well for people wanting more ring or melodic sound (they're standard 1/8" drilled mounts.)

Jingle Cups

Comments:

I purchased these to put on my washboard. The steel jingle works well, the brass does not. Regarding the brass jingles, I will try opening the hole a bit, maybe then they'll move so they can ring, or replacing the jingles with steel jingles I have. Could also be louder. I realize the washboard is much louder than a cajon drum so I may double up the jingles per each cup and see if that works. At the low price, I still feel I'm ahead, and have added a nice effect to my washboard.

No Jingle

Comments:

FAIL. These don't jingle if you stick them to a cajon, or the top of a drum, or side, or anything that will allow suction. You can't really smack them for a sound and you can't get them to jingle in piggyback mode. The jingles are not themselves resonant, they're of cheap quality; and the idea does not bear out as it appears it might. Nice try, don't buy.
