Just what I was looking for

I have been looking for a snare like this for a while - I was afraid I'd have to build one. I like 13" snares, but it seems that they go straight from piccolo depth to 7" deep with no in-between. I wanted an "in-between" to cover that range, and here it was. Typical good Pearl quality, great price. It also seems to be somehow more resistant to snare buzz than my 7" depth snare - maybe because the depth is not close to a multiple of my rack toms' depths, so YMMV in that respect. If I get the inclination maybe I'll do the math to check, but as long as it works I'm not to picky. I'm tempted to pick up the whole range of "Modern Utility" snares after this.
