No doubt this is a quality stand, but sadly Pearl has failed to consider students or women in their design: I am 5' 6'' and with a 5'' drum the lowest position is too high for me. Unfortunately Pearl's kit snare stand does not go high enough. Nothing like regular, subtle reminders women aren't considered in this industry...

Stand accommodates 15" drums, which is the only reason I bought it. Very good, solid construction and works very well. In fact too good. It weighs a ton. The tilter is needlessly complicated. Each of the arms, for some unknown reason, have a 'drum lug' that can be tightened with a ..drum roll........... DRUM KEY. So to adjust the arm length, rather than just slide each arm in or out and put your drum in the 'basket,' (or crank the entire basket open and closed(crank, crank, crank,), you slide out each arm extension, and then put your drum in the basket. No real need to tighten the arm extensions. Once your drum is in it it ain't going anywhere--UNLESS you want them at the same length the next time use use the stand. Then tighten each arm with your trusty "JG" drum key.. WEISS sells it so you know it is GOOD.. Just, in my opinion.. too good.

Easy to set up and worked perfectly for a orchestral concert with a 16" field drum. The adjustable top works great for many different size drums.
