The idea is great, but the implementation is so-so. I got a model that cracks a lot when hitting a cowbell.

i bought this nifty little thing from a nice little new\used type music store in greensboro n.c and have never regretted it since. some tiny things to look out for are, you might want to put some electric tape on the ridge and on the bottom of the inside to prevent ringing. also, it's kind of heavy and slightly makes my hi hats sag slightly, however this doesn't impace my drumset playability. buy this product now!
