Mace-Crossed Points of View (SP)-V/M - Product Information
Crossed Points of View is one two new works by Philippe Mace for vibraphone and marimba duo! This work includes the score and separate parts for each instrument. Featuring opportunities for improvisation, this is a great jazz work for two well-prepared players.

Philippe Macé studied at the Superior National Music Conservatory in Paris (CSNM). Soon he approached his carreer as a musician by participating in different venues. In 1976 he became a member of the famous ensemble Ensemble Intercontemporain. Here he worked under the direction of Pierre Boulez for 5 years and got involved in performances of music by Boulez, Stockhausen, Berio, Xenakis and others associated in particular with ircam.
At the same time Mr. Macé also extended his works towards improvisation and the jazz music scene. He has performed in festivals in Donaueschingen, Antibes-Juan les Pins, Paris, Coutance, Nancy, Amiens and others.
Now, Mr. Macé is involved in different artistic involvements as well as education. He teaches improvisation and jazz at the Conservatorie Rayonnement Régional in Paris and at the Pole Supérior Paris-Boulogne. He also lead the percussion department at the Haure École de Musique de Geneve 2009 to 2011.
