This product is the best sizzle sound product on the market today. The beads produce a smooth crisp sizzle sound, much better than its predecessor " The Rattler " which was a coarser more bouncy sound.

Doesn't work on a thicker cymbal

This product is well made and nicely designed. However, it did not work at all on the 20" A. Zildjian Ping Ride that I tried it on. That cymbal is simply too rigid to make the sizzles dance as they should. All it did was muffle the cymbal a little. The product probably would work fine on a thinner, more flexible cymbal, but it didn't work for this one. I recall that someone used to make a hinged bracket that was designed to thread onto the cymbal stand and fold down two arms that had three rivets apiece on the ends. I have not been able to find one, so this design with the "pull chain" metal balls seems to be the only option.

A few minor issues...

I installed this on an 18 inch China. With a rubber sleeve on the stand to protect against cymbal keyholing, the center hole in the plastic of the Sizzler is too small and therefore does not fit flush against the cymbal's bell. Also, the beads are larger than I expected (especially given that this product is smaller then the Rattler), and I had to cut off a few of the beads from the chain to achieve the appropriate amount of sizzle; this may *not* be an issue when using with a larger diameter cymbal such as a 22" Ride, so it's actually good that Pro-Mark erred on the longer side. I am happy with the results after minor tweaking, but do wish the center hole was a bit wider.

This works best on thinner cymbals. You should try it on the same model of cymbal that you wish to use it on before you buy it if at all possible. It works on some cymbals, but it can be difficult to find one that sounds just right.
