Promark DC8 Jeff Ausdemore Marching Snare Drumsticks - Product Information

The Promark Jeff Ausdemore autograph snare sticks have a "fast" feel, due to the thin neck which bodes well for quick response in either single stokes or multiple bounce rudiments. The TXDC8W's shoulder also flares out quickly to handle rim shots, and the shaft provides a "full" feeling in the player's hand. The smaller bead provides a very clear articulation and a focused attack at all volumes.

FEEL and REBOUND for days

Comments:

My students turned me on to these sticks because they are fans of Blue Knights, and Ausdemore is writing their music. I've never tried them until rehearsal yesterday, and I think they are the best feeling marching sticks I've ever felt. They just seem to fly back off the head, but they aren't light. They have a huge sound but it doesn't take force or downstrokes to get it. I've always loved the Ralph Hardimons (still do) but these feel even better imo. Just ordered a full season's worth for this fall, and I'm about to check out the indoor version later this week.

I'm not that familiar with Promark, but a student of mine came into rehearsal with a pair of the Ausdemore outdoor pair. We re in love.

Nice Marching Stick

Comments:

Promark has done a good job over the years & I'm a fan of the Jeff Ausdemore DC8. It is a heavier (Weight) stick, there's nothing wrong with that, I find heavier sticks easier to play. Good feel & balance. Durability & sound are other benefits this stick offers. The students in drumline picked the Promark DC8 over other various options.

My Fav

Comments:

So I've been a Vic Firth guy most of HS, but now that I'm auditioning for corps, I decided to try these. OMG- they are the best feeling stix I've ever played with. The outdoors are a little heavier than I'm used to, but I'm good with them now. The sound at the low end is awesome. I have some younger students using the indoors, cuz they are perfect for the smaller hands.

Stocky but heavy.

Comments:

I rate this product a four only because I feel like it's more of a personal taste thing. If I am rating them based on whether they work or not, then straight five, by all means. If I'm rating them on how they feel in my hands, then again, straight five (they feel very quick when I play, and they are moderatly heavy. Helpful for taps and beefy sound. The short taper provides some front weight - I like their stocky but beefy feel). But I can never use just one stick - I frequently switch between these and Vic Firth Mike Jacksons, or Lee Beddises. Sometimes even McNutts; it depends on my preference at the time, and what I am playing. But in general, I would reccomend this stick. They are a vlauable addition to anyone's (marching) stick bag.
