This is my 7th Protection racket bag, picked up for a 12x5 Sonor Prolite snare. As usual, Protection Racket doesn't disappoint. Exactly what they describe on their website - durable exterior, good padding, and a great synthetic fleece lining. Extremely well made, and likely to last many years of regular road wear. The best soft-bags on the market. One feature they have that few others seem to have is the zipper closures are lockable using standard luggage locks. Helps to keep prying eyes (and curious fingers) out of your gear....

I've used PR for ages: they remain affordable, well-designed, and high build quality. They come in every size imaginable, what's not to like?

I have three drum sets in the Protection Racket cases, and all my snare drums too. They are BY FAR the best made cases I have ever seen or used. The nylon is super heavy duty as are the zippers. easy carry handles, built in ID pockets for your contact info, roughly business card size. The "AA" models are like fiber cases, but with all the features of the soft cases: "propile" (synthetic fleece) lined, nylon covered, etc. It has the stiff fiber like material embedded in the nylon case, so, like a regular fiber or plastic case, it stands up when opened making it easy load. These work best for bass drum cases, but do increase the cost, but still less than SKB or others. Well worth the cost, I have had these for several years now, and expect they will be the last cases I will ever need for my drums.

This case is made of very good materials and has great, soft padding inside. Protects like a hard case but costs as much as a soft case.

The bags are made of HEAVY Cordura & zippers, seams well-reinforced, great quality. The foam padding in the middle is quite stiff and the bag will stand up like a hard case. Some call these semi-rigid cases, which is appropriate. The interior is lined with a heavy, off-white synthetic fleece that you would expect to shed all over the place--but doesn't at all. I don't know if the bag would protect you drums from actual submersion, but mine have stayed dry inside in and out of heavy rains and brief stints in a puddle. Don't know about fire protection, but would bet they would do OK in something like a storage room fire, if things didn't get too bad. These are a safe bet if you don't have the buck$ for hard cases, or the descriptions of the competition's products seem too vague. Buy 'em with great confidence your drums will be OK around town. Pack them well in shipping boxes and they can fly with you.
