Easy Percussion for Percussion Ensemble by Mattias Schmitt is an entry from the newest series of percussion music for young players - The Rainbow Series by Norsk Musikforlag. This percussion ensemble version of these books combines elements of all the Rainbow Series books. In order to accommodate the music teacher and technical possibilities, the choice of instrumentation is free. However, the division of instruments into four parts should be adhered to. For example:
Soprano: treble snare drum
Alto: bass snare drum or drum without snares
Tenor: treble tom-tom (timbal high)
Bass: bass tom-tom (timbal low, bass drum, floor tom)
The Rainbow Series is a new series of easy pieces for percussion instruments. Each book has a different focus and includes a CD. The concept has been made by Matthias Schmitt and Tom Wagner, and was presented at the Frankfurt Musikmesse 2009.
