Remo Hazy Ambassador snare side drumheads are made from a 3-mil film, ideal for general purpose applications requiring both sensitivity and projection with the widest dynamic range.
I've got and tried just about every version of snare side drumheads. After trying them all, as well as finding out what ones have been used by other famous drummers, both for live playing and in the studio, it's amazing how it all comes back to the classic Remo Hazy Snare side head. It has just the right amount of resonance, regardless of shell type, to be able to generate a very pleasing snare sound.

Dark and Dry

Giving this product a "grade" is hard to do if at all appropriate. I gave it four stars for the simple fact that it seated properly and tuned very easily. Outside of that, EVERYONE has their own set of ears, tastes and musical expectations.
I put this on a metal snare and there was a significant change in tone. Still very sensitive but with a noticeable change to dark and dry as one would expect.

Trusted Head for multiple applications

This has been my go to head for a while now. I use it on my both my drum kits, and concert snare drums. The sound is very reliable and easy to tune. It has a very nice response at all dynamic ranges. It is also the head I recommend to the educators in the area when they need to do head changes. You will not be disappointed.

I have used many heads in the last 30 years. For any snare drum with a wire snare configuration, this is still the gold standard!
