I've worked at a high school for three years with these heads and am on the fence about them. If they're new, and you tune them right, they really sing. They'll have great tone and sustain. After a while they do sort of get cloudy, as drum heads do, but the articulation is not so much there. They do stay in tune for a good while if you have them in the lower range. The higher they go, the worse off you are. I do Ab, Cb, Ebb, and Gb (for the sake of spelling out the chord). They do really well in this range. Not terrible, but not my favorite.

Comments:

They're very... unique. I would say they're great heads for Indoor lines, but for outdoor use, they're not very good, to say the best. They're so dry they almost sound dead, and have very little sustain. They're quiet, so unless you're using some giant and heavy mallets, you will almost definitely not hear them from the stands. I will say that they have a pretty nice tone, and they're definitely articulate, but for a traditional Tenor sound, I would use the Pinstripes or Renaissance. Unique doesn't always mean good.
