The Remo Diplomat Hazy concert snare side drum head features a 2-mil Mylar film for the most sensitive snare response with outstanding projection and tone.
These are the best snare side heads for 12 inch snare drum symphonic application. Crisp and dry.
Too bad Remo does not make a 12 inch 5mil batter side head, but little market for such a product.

No better snare bottom head around

Remo is the only manufacturer who offers 200 mil heads for oversize snare drums (15" & 16"). I tune them very low on my 16" drums, and they still sound amazing. Perfect e.g. on my 1973 vintage Ludwig 16" x 12" parade drum. I really hope that Remo once offers an opaque Diplomat - gauge snare bottom head, as all the other types are medium- to heavy gauge!

Remo make great drum heads

I put this puppy on a used Ludwig 12 by 15 marching snare drum that was a free gift. I had some Hinger snares that I wanted to use and Terry Cornett of Heritage Drums added a very deep snare bed to the drum. It had a Ludwig Classic strainer so the original snare bed was very shallow and wide. The Remo head worked out perfectly with a modified Emperor batter head. The only other comment I have is that I wish Remo offered a truly opaque snare side head instead of just "hazy".
