This head was made for thin shells! I'm using this powerstroke x on 5x14" ludwig epic snare with a pretty thin shell and up to this point I couldn't find the right balance of tone and crack that I wanted. The powerstroke gave me some body and crack (even in a mid turning range) and even when I cranked it up it didn't choke. Great head!
