This Roland SPD-SX Xpak2 gives you the ability to mount your SPD-SX to a Sturdy Double Braced stand making it easy to set up your SPD-SX on stage, in the field or indoor arena. This will add color and depth to your performance.

The heart of this package is the Roland SPD-SX Sampling Drum Pad. this is an is an electronic percussion powerhouse on stage and in the studio. The SPD-SX makes sample creation quick, easy and innovative with it's audio capture feature. Playback of the samples will be expressive with its touch sensitive pads and three multi-effects engines. Whether you're firing off one-shot samples, looped phrases, or complete audio playback tracks, the SPD-SX is loaded with the latest technology and tools to get the job done with speed, precision, and convenience.

  • 4 GB internal memory, enabling approximately 360 minutes of sampling (mono) without requiring external memory

Roland makes great electronic stuff and this is no exception. The preloaded sounds are not near as nice as the Roland Handsonic (not as many Percussion sounds and too many typical sounding house loops). But that doesn't matter as the strong part of this unit is being able to easily record your own sounds into it. Sample anything---rainsticks, tam tams, timpani--- even belch into the thing and you can move it onto any pad, external pad, or foot pedal. And unlike the Handsonic, the SPD-SX is designed to be triggered using a drumstick. Six pads and three "shoulder" pads at the top of the unit can be designated to accept any of the sounds that you have loaded in. The entire unit is small enough to fit into your drum set or percussion setup. And thanks SWM for the free stand!
