Weiss 16" Roto-Tom with Stand - Product Information

The Weiss 16" Roto-Tom includes a single roto-tom and all roto-tom stand parts making it an easy addition to any drum set, multiple percussion, or concert tom setup. Like all roto-toms, the drum is tuned by turning the drum on a center rod which is mounted on a roto-tom track. This allows the player to tune quickly and with precision. Larger models such as this 16" drum serve as excellent floor toms in a roto-tom drum set, or an impact drum for an ensemble.

The 16" drum features excellent projection, tuning range and sustain. Roto-toms are at home as not only an easily tunable concert tom, but an add-on for anyone looking to expand their drum set.

Includes 16" roto-tom, a heavy-duty double braced roto-tom stand, roto-tom track, and clear roto-tom drumheads.

I find this good value. The clear medium weight head that came with it is fine enough to use. I didn't pay extra for a head I didn't want, and that saved me money. i started with the 12/14 combination, bought this 16, and will work towards buying the 18 and the 6/8/10 combination. thank you Steve Weiss for offering these sizes at reasonable prices!

Weiss 16

Comments:

I recently purchased the full set of Steve Weiss Roto-Toms, ranging from 6" to 18" (6", 8", 10", 12", 14", 16", 18"), and I'm thrilled to finally complete my drum collection with these versatile drums. I'm glad there are still options available for buying new Roto-Toms, and the quality of this set does not disappoint. The Roto-Toms themselves are well-constructed and have a solid feel. The unique, open design allows for bright, cutting tones with a lot of tuning flexibility. They're perfect for adding melodic elements to my setup, and I love the tonal possibilities they bring. However, one thing to note is that they seem to be more sensitive to room temperature changes than traditional drumheads. I find that I have to tweak and fine-tune the tension fairly often to maintain the sound I want. It's a small inconvenience, but it's worth it for the distinctive sound that only Roto-Toms can offer. The stands and mounting hardware that came with the set are decent, but I do wish they were a bit sturdier. They hold the drums securely, but a slightly more robust design would provide greater stability. Because of this, I'm looking into mounting them onto a drum rack system, which I believe will be a more solid and practical solution.

Rot-tom

Comments:

Quality was fair, tuning is a bit tough. I had to tune them very low to get a vibration out of the drum, which is a little unusual that the drum would rattle at higher tuning but that was the case. I would still recommend the drum as it's the only one on the market in bigger sizes.

Roto Toms

Comments:

So I bought a full set of roto toms from this company. For the price, the 6-8-10-12 & 14 in toms are great. But my issue is with the 16&18. They don't tune up very well and I can't get the 18 to stop rippling. Looks like the inner spoke is not true on the bearing edge. Kind of annoying. But, like I said, for the money, they'e all in all pretty good .
