Sabian 17" HHX Orchestral Suspended Cymbal

I have heard these cymbals sound great. I have also found many to be underwhelming. Sometimes they sound a little stiff and dampened. Some have overtones that are not very appealing. Unfortunately, the one I was sent has a few of the problematic issues. The cymbal has opened up a bit with play and efforts to break the cymbal in. However, the overtone is still present at louder volumes. I hope this improves with time and as the cymbal ages. I do not recommend purchasing this cymbal without hand selecting the cymbal or at minimum listening to quality audio of the cymbal at all volumes. You may find a gem. However, at this price point, you can't afford to get a clunker.
