Timber Drum Company American Hard Wood Block - Product Information

These Wood Blocks from the Timber Drum Company have a sound that can be described as woody, natural and organic. Each block is carved from one solid piece of American Hard Wood and hand rubbed with an oil finish. These blocks have a very focused tone which will project through other instruments in an ensemble without being out of control or piercing. There are three sizes to choose from. Multiple blocks mean more complex and diverse patterns can be achieved. If you are not sure which size to choose, pick the large 8" block since that produces the most traditional sound.

The Large Block's Dimensions are 1.625" x 2.5" x 8"

The Medium Block's dimensions are 1.625" x 2.5" x 7"

The Small Wood Block's dimensions are 1.625" x 2.5" x 6"

Amazing Tone

Comments:

As a percussionist and band director, I strive to give beginning band percussionists quality percussion instruments to play, especially in the auxiliary percussion category. It can be tough to do so on a small elementary school budget, but the Timber Drum Co. certainly delivered with a USA made product of exceptional sound quality and value. The large woodblock is resonant, shows beautiful wood grain, and feels good to play.

Great for the price!

Comments:

As a freelancer, I wish I had discovered these woodblocks sooner. They sound as good as Black Swamp or Grover brands but are less expensive. The only reason I will mark them down is they have only 3 sizes (the Black Swamps and Grovers have more variety of size and pitch) but these are a professional grade wood block for cheaper!
