V.F. Rute 303

Comments:

Another cool "tool" from Vic Firth. The Rute 303 has a "thicker" sound that the original "Hot Rods". And this is why I purchased this pair. It gives me a different sound but with the same playing feel of the hot rods. For those looking to having an alternative in their bag to pull from.

Great Product

Comments:

I needed to get a quieter sound for when I played in smaller roomed gigs and certain bars. I regularly use Vic Firth X5A for playing so when I had to switch to the Rute 303, the feel of the handle wasn't a large change to deal with on the spot. Also with the style of the handle on the Rute, you can get a great clave sound when rim knocking on the Snare Drum. Only downfall is that they tend to break easy if you crash them on a cymbal. I fixed this by simply taping them.
