Dave Weckl Evolution - Nylon Tips

Comments:

Great stick. I purchased both the wood tip version and the nylon tip version from Steve Weiss. The nylon tips seem more comfortable to me. Nice sound on the cymbals and drums. The bullet type/short teardrop tip really makes these sticks better than the Vic Firth Standard 5a. I am using the Steve Gadd sticks as well, but the Dave Weckl Evolution is a great stick that you can use for any type of music. Very comfortable and balanced stick with an effortless rebound. The orange paint looks cool too. Hopefully these will be back in stock soon. As always, top notch service and selection from Steve Weiss.

Dave Weckl Evolution - Nylon Tips

Comments:

Great sticks! Nice balance and great sound from the cymbals and drumheads. I purchased the wooden tips as well. The short tear drop tip gives a little better rebound in the nylon version too. The orange paint looks good as well and i have no issues with that. I don't think that you can go wrong with any of the Dave Weckl signature series to be honest. I have been using the Steve Gadd sticks and those are a really good stick too.

Vic Firth Dave Weckl Evolution Nylon tip

Comments:

Very good stick for all types of music. I've played the wood tip for years and recently switched to the nylon tip Evolution. It seems I get more response and the balance seems a little better than the wood tip. Cymbal response and ride sound are more defined, the drums when miked up seem to sing a bit more. Biggest plus is that the tips don't break off after 2 sessions. Very solid stick.

Spot on!

Comments:

Just what I needed to bring out the sound of my Sabian Omni cymbals (JoJo Mayer). Wood tips just weren't getting it done and the nylon tip won't wear out like the wood did...chipping way too early.
