A Good General Stick

Comments:

The Tim Genis General sticks are some of the first concert sticks I bought in high school. I've got two pairs, and while I rarely use them, it's not because they're not good, I simply have other sticks I tend to prefer for most things. The persimmon on both pairs is nice and dense, and weight, pitch, and balance are good. I personally don't like the glossy finish, especially since it doesn't always play nicely with sweat. Still, I know plenty of people like this, so it's not a defect of the stick, just a matter of preference. All in all, a very capable stick you can't really go wrong with.

Vic Firth Symphonic Tim Genis Signature Snare Drum

Comments:

I called to ask what snare drum stick would be best to use on a timpani. The first salesperson did not know but referred me to someone else who called back in a very timely manner. He did not hesitate to suggest this stick. He was right. I used it on timpani for an opera I played and it sounded wonderful It was crisp but soft and no "thud". I am and will always be a loyal customer.

Dream Sticks

Comments:

I accidentally ordered two pairs of these last year at my teacher's recommendation, one of which I kept for myself and one of which I've been letting my high school section use. I took a liking to them immediately and, upon playing with them themselves, my sectionmates now have incredibly high standards for snare sticks! I've even let some of my younger players in our lower ensemble use them, and they've dramatically improved their roll quality and evenness of pulse because of the additional weight in the hand. They're great for my pre-conservatory orchestral rep, for middleground wind band playing and especially to get the right ideas into the hands of less advanced players. Incredibly well-rounded and, at this price, one couldn't ask for anything better!

These sticks are light, smooth, and make a beautiful sound with little effort. They stick true to their discription with a very good price.

Great concert snare stick

Comments:

What an outstanding stick. I buy them for all my private students. A nice heavy orchestral stick with a good bounce. They are almost identical to the Andy Reamer's Bookspan General, although these are a bit heavy on the lacquer finish and felt sticky in my hands. I sanded down mine and put a light coat of tung oil to make mine feel like the Bookspans that I had for almost 20 years
