Bilic-Wild Rose-M - Product Information
Wild Rose by Ivana Bilic is a four mallet solo scored for 5-octave marimba.
Bilic writes, "I always loved the inner duality of the marimba - the soft soul with a ruff edge. This piece is inspired by several musical phenomena of the XX century - rock 'n' roll, jazz, movie soundtracks, world music...reflecting the modern human being - superman/woman attitude with a heart full of childish naïveté.
Structurally it is an impromptu with a free flow of ideas, using certain patterns - intervals or rhythmical permutation and familiar musical material as driving force and inspiration.
The piece was created on the initiative of Bogdan Bacanu for the 2012 Salzburg Marimba Competition and dedicated to Magdalena, my dearest wild rose."
