The Yamaha Absolute Hybrid Maple drums have been designed for the ultimate in tone and playability, allowing drummers to use these instruments to express their creative vision. When played at thunderous volumes or played at a delicate whisper the Absolute Maple Hybrid responds to the players slightest nuances.

Like most drum sets the shells are critical to sound. Yamaha uses a core ply of wenge, a very hard and heavy wood native to Africa, sandwiched between plies of maple, well known for its clear tone. This hybrid design delivers a drum tone that plays rich and clear across the full dynamic range, from pianissimo to fortissimo. Varying degrees of bearing edge angle are used between the toms and bass drum to focus the tone on each drum. Balanced on the toms, stronger low end on the bass drum.

• Hook lugs offer quick and easy head replacement, precision tuning, and can readily handle high-tension tuning. Lug bases are designed with a small footprint to maximize tone output from the hybrid shell.

• The tom holder base is light weight and has a small footprint allowing the bass drum shell to vibrate more freely.
