Really, there are better options. If you have a middle school marching and you think that the percussionist can't handle "real quads" you're wrong. I would have much rather used full sized, more quality marching tenors in middle school. These are way too shallow, they can't hold a tune, and are very easy to break. Spend a little more cash and go for something better.

Dont get me wrong, these are some pretty good quads, but my experience with them was rather dissapointing, we used them in my school marching band and they were pretty easy to break, but i think that they are great for beginners to start learning on.
