Yamaha 3.0 Octave Standard Vibraphone no Motor - Product Information

The Yamaha 3.0 Octave Standard Vibraphone is perfect for limited budgets, beginning percussionists, or those in need of a compact instrument without sacrificing sound quality. The bars are made of the same aluminum alloy that is used in Yamaha celestas. The tone bars produce a soft, warm tone that blends beautifully with other instruments in ensembles. Another standout feature with this instrument is the gas spring height adjustment system. This system allows for simple height adjustment allowing any player to achieve a comfortable playing position and maintaining proper posture. The damper pedal is controlled by a belt instead of a rod. The use of a belt also means that slippage cannot occur when the damper pedal is pressed as well as the buckle contributes to the easy height adjustment. Other steps taken to ensure the quality details of this instrument include rubber joint below the frame to reduce frame and floor noise during performance. The casters have a 3″, for notably improved mobility.

  • Bars utilize the exclusive Yamaha tuning method for true pitch and a full sound.
  • Non-graduated bars help keep this keyboard compact while the silver matte finish produces a warm sound.
  • Locking 3″ casters on the player side are easy to reach, and secure the instrument while playing.
  • Only essential accidental resonators are used to reduce weight and size for transport.
  • Range - F33-F69 (3 octaves).
  • Included - Cover, Mallets (ME-303), and Hex Key

Yamaha Entry Level Vibraphone

Comments:

I've played vibraphone for a few years now but I have never have my own. I got to the point where I didn't have access to one anymore so I did what many percussionist want to do and bought my own instrument. I went with this one for the obvious price point. It's as low as you can find for a brand new 3 octave F to F vibraphone. So far after getting it, I've put in about 5 or 6 hours a day practicing because I love it. It's one of the best luxury decisions I've made. It feels just like a normal more expensive vibraphone, the only downside being it has non graduated bars, however this con is easy to overlook if you consider it an entry level vibraphone. It's very good for a student or someone who doesn't have the kind of money to buy a more expensive but nicer one. It also has slightly worse build quality which is to be expected, but the only real place I can see the slightly worse build quality is that there a small insignificant rattles that can be overlooked easily. I'm sure if you can identify the rattles and put some sort of cushion it would go away quiet easily. All in all, if you're wondering if you should buy this and your in the financial position too, I think you should. It has made me happy and rekindle my love for making music and I'm sure it will make any vibraphonist or aspiring vibraphonist just as happy.
