The second movement, Rounds, is a 22-part expanding and contracting canon. The ensemble has the option of disregarding the composer's interpretation and substituting instruments to enhance this or other interpretations. The final movement, Parade, is a wild, abstract vision of a parade in the form of triple duo and, incidentally, conforming to the proportions underlying Air [ABACBCBACA].
