Prior to joining the Met, he was Principal Timpanist of the Honolulu Symphony. He has also performed with the Graham Ashton Brass Ensemble, the Met Chamber Ensemble, the Empire Brass, the New Renaissance Chamber Players, the Percussionists of the Met, and in a duo with the marimbist Mayumi Sekizawa. He has presented masterclasses in the US, Mexico and Japan, including at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention. A composer of works primarily for percussion, his music has been performed in New York, throughout the U.S., Mexico City and Tokyo.
