She studied composition under Prof. Emil Petrovics at the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, Hungary and graduated with diplomas in music theory and composition. She has been honored with numerous prizes for her compositions, including first prize at the competition in memory of Ferenc Liszt in 1986, the forth prize at the Roodeport International Eisteddfod of South Africa Composer's Competition in 1992, and second prize at The Music of the Future Composer's Competition in Szeged, Hungary in 1993. In addition, she has received several scholarships, including the Kincses Kuratórium Schorarship in 1987, the Zoltán Kodály Scholarship from 1988 through 1991, and the Banff Center for the Arts Scholarship in 1998.
