The core ostinato of the score, played by the drum set, is reminiscent of Led Zeppelin's \u003ci\u003eWhen the Levee Breaks\u003c\/i\u003e , although there are references to other Led Zeppelin songs as well, such as \u003ci\u003eCustard Pie\u003c\/i\u003e and \u003ci\u003eRoyal Orleans\u003c\/i\u003e.  In addition, two other sources are cited:  The Butterfield Blues Band (\u003ci\u003eGet Yourself Together\u003c\/i\u003e ) and Bo Diddley, whose adoption of the traditional \"hambone\" rhythm added so much to the distinctive syle of his material.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eCompleted in Fairport, New York on November 13, 1988, \u003ci\u003eBonham\u003c\/i\u003e was commissioned by the New England Conservatory of Music through funds provided by the Massachusetts Arts Council.
