Pearl Travel Conga

Pearl's 3 sizes of travel congas deliver real conga sound from a compact drum that can be carried in a backpack or optional travel conga bag. The key to the Travel Conga's amazing sound is it's wood and stave construction that is identical to full...

Comments:

I bought the Pearl Travel Bongos and 11-3/4" Travel Conga and the build-quality exceeded my expectations. They sound fantastic, easy to fine-tune to your taste, and they're heavier than they look. They look fabulous. Very happy with this purchase.

Great sound, perfect portability

Comments:

This drum sounds great and in my opinion is very underrated. I have the 11in quinto and it feels great. I was initially worried that the tuning bolts would get in the way, but they are placed in the perfect zones to not be an issue. Although it is only 1/4 the size of a real quinto, the bass is surprisingly present, especially on the new travel conga stand, but not limited to it either. It sounds great in a snare basket or on your lap too! All in all, I'd recommend it to anyone who wants a great drum with big sound, but also a professional quality drum that you can put in your backpack and take anywhere. I'm definitely going to get every model they offer of these congas.

Pearl Travel Congas Superior in Sound.

Comments:

I own both Pearl Travel Congas and LP Compact Congas. I find that the Pearl Travel Congas provide the best sound hands down. The sound is warm, great Tone, Slaps and Bass. LP has a great innovative idea for sleek, thin and cosmetically beautiful but the head they sell with it, has a horrible ringing, tinging sound. The slaps and tones are ok but bass completely absent. To get a great sound for the LP you would have to replace the head completely.

Good sound

Comments:

For me this travel conga is better sounding and more comfortable than an LP compact conga. Theis drum can be placed on your lap , unlike the lp. Also the small shell that it does have gives it much more sound than the lp. Fits in a backpack. Have used it for dance classes and trio gigs.

Not as versatile as the LP compact conga

Comments:

I bought the large size Pearl travel conga hoping that it would complement the LP compact congas, of which there are currently only two sizes. Unfortunately the Pearl travel conga is really just a practice tool: it does not have a sound which is pleasing or usable in its own right. The LP compact congas, which have a ringing, pitchy, frame drum like sound are versatile (as practice tools, but also in multi-percussion setups, or in a drum set) in a way that the Pearl travel conga is not.

Oddly awesome

Comments:

Of course real congas are better, but these things are actually surprisingly awesome.
