gibraltar percussion rack

Gibraltar Percussion Rack

The Gibraltar GAB-20 5 Post Percussion mounting bar allows you to mount up to 10 items on 9.5mm knurled posts. Attaches to almost any stand. Length: 20"

Not Adjustable

Comments:

This is a good value if you need to mount lots of items in a small space, but note that the posts cannot be adjusted up or down so you have no height options. If that's not a problem (say, for mounting lots of cowbells,) this is a nice piece.

Perfect for my needs.

Comments:

I needed this rack to hold the multiple instruments I play in our community band. Major problem is that the weight when loaded pulls the stand lower making it more difficult to see the music. Nevertheless, it is better than me having to look away from the music to find the instruments. I'll figure out a way to prevent this issue.

Great Rack

Comments:

This is a well-built rack. The clamp holds it securely to just about any stand, and it has plenty of places to mount lots of different percussion devices. My idea in purchasing a percussion rack with lots and lots of places to mount accessories was to mount everything I had all at once and not have to mess around with mounting and unmounting all of the time in my recording studio. The drawback I discovered after using it for just a few minutes is that you can't mount just anything on it. Because the vibrations created by playing one attached instrument travel to the others, you can't mount something like a tambourine and expect not to hear it when you hit your woodblock (or anything else!). Even mounting both woodblocks and cowbells simultaneously was a no-go for recording purposes. The cowbells audibly vibrated sympathetically when the woodblocks were played. So, I've solved this by being selective about what I mount together, and I got a separate mount for those moments when I have to have two items mounted that would otherwise be incompatible on the same rack. It does call into question the usefulness of being able to mount 10 different accessories simultaneously, however. I'd recommend this stand to anyone, but be aware of this potential problem.

This stand does everything advertised: attaches easily to any stand and acts as a sturdy base for my tambourine, cowbell ans vibraslap with plentiful of room for expansion. Definitely worth the money!
