These sweet little chimes are like honey to the ear. I wanted something that looked as good as it sounded and these are lovely, chimes on a pretty wooden box. They will last forever I imagine. Our musical family prefers them for the young kids too, better than those kid xylophones. We will play them during family performances or just for fun with the babies. I'm so happy with this purchase.

Lovely wood finish and beautiful tone on these chimes. You can even play the NBC chimes jingle.
I mounted mine vertically on a nearby wall to double as decoration. For some reason the tone does not reverberate when mounted in this fashion. Place it on it's rubber feet and it sounds great, with reverb.

I love the Weiss Dinner Chimes. I grew up with one and it was a favorite childhood memory. I now have 9 grandchildren and wanted to create a memory for them. The little ones now vie for their turn to use it to announce dinner! I looked for a "striker" that was covered, which makes a softer sound, but was not able to find one, so I made a cover for it. Now it sounds just like the sounds I grew up with.

The tones of the four chimes are perfect. They have a beautiful resonance, not high and brassy sounding but lower and pleasing to hear. The box is well made and may be carried easily while striking the chimes.
They will be used to call guests to their tables for dinner in large ballrooms.
They were purchased as a gift for ARCS, Foundation, San Diego Chapter.
ARCS Foundation advances science and technology in the United States by providing financial awards to academically outstanding U.S. citizens studying to complete advanced degrees in science, engineering, and medical research. The San Diego Chapter currently has 62 scholars enrolled in our four major universities:
University of California San Diego, San Diego State University, University of San Diego, and The Scripps
Research Institute, who are finishing Ph.D. and advanced Engineering degrees.

My company bought these in order to call people in from breaks and back to the general sessions of our meeting during our 100+ person conferences annually. Fewer and fewer hotels have these chimes (you must ask,) but they work wonders to get attention. These chimes are not that easy to find, but Steve Weiss had them and delivered quickly. Reasonable price tag, too. They are loud and clear, compact, and come boxed with the mallet.

The tones ring clear and are a nice way to call people to dinner after a reception. The resonator box had a few minor scratches on the surface upon arrival. A dark colored grease pencil and a quick polish; the box looks great. Thanks for nice product!

Dinner chimes

These are well made - and I received them quickly as promised. I wish there were some place to get possible tunes to use for calling the family to dinner. Growing up my family had a set of these (nobody seems to know where they ended up), and we played a certain 'tune' to call everyone to the dinner table. If someone knows where to find them (I've googled and tried you tube to no avail), please let me know!
PS - I wanted two sets of these - one for my daughter's home and one for mine. Only one was available at the time. I look forward to purchasing the second one so I can give it to my daughter - I kept the first one for us!!)
