Great sticks

Comments:

I have been using the Glen Steele Finale sticks from Steve Weiss for many years. They are easily the best concert sticks I have ever used, and I have tried many, many other brands and styles. You need to play them to believe them.

Great Sticks For Rudimental Drumming

Comments:

I have a pair of the original hickory Glenn Steele sticks, which are great. So naturally I wanted to see what they would be like in maple. I like the way the hickory versions felt when playing rudimental drum solos on a concert snare & on field snare drums. The maple sticks are of course much lighter and less "powerful", but they still provide a nice feel for rudimental stuff. The large beads provide a nice, full and articulate sound on coated Ambassador type heads. The maple keeps them light, and therefore they feel very fast. The balance is interesting aspect of these sticks - Since they are fatter and longer than the Vic Firth SD1, so technically they weigh a bit more, but the taper is so long & gradual that the balance shifts farther back & the stick feels lighter & more lively than the SD1. If you're gonna compare them to animals: The SD1 is a Bulldog (weight is up-front & lots of power & control packed into a compact frame) The Glenn Steel Finale is a Kangaroo (weight & power are near the back to provide a fast & lively characteristic, but it can still pack a punch with control & grace.) I love this stick, and I tend to practice a lot with it on a Drumslinger Percussion "standard" pad,

Very Nice Sticks

Comments:

Nice feeling sticks with good balance. I like the tip, and the taper. They feel "firm" and aren't too heavy. Well made sticks in my opinion.

Wonderful!

Comments:

The new Glenn Steele stick is more versatile than ever. They are similar in size to the Alan Abel stick, yet slightly lighter. The weight distribution is ideal soft playing, and the thickness of the bead produce a great forte sound. Perfect for field drum also. This is the best snare drum stick you can get for the price.

What Happened??!! You seriously need to read this

Comments:

There are two types of Glenn Steele Drumsticks- the Finale and the original. The finales are okay if you are not used to the originals. They aren't that bad but their not good and if you have any sense as a drummer you will most likely say no after this. My Band Director has been giving out original glenn steele drum sticks almost every year. Accidentally he ordered finales since the originals were taken off the market - I tried out a pair of these sticks while teaching the new group of fifth graders. If anything the heads are bigger and the sticks might be thinner (not sure about the width). But the BIG difference is the wood-the wood is not very dense. That translates to a lighter more hollow feel while playing. The thing i will say they might be useful for is a pad stick. but other than that i wouldn't recommend them. Its up to you to decide but don't waste 10 dollars. There are so many other sticks you should buy from THIS WEBSITE. Something for steve weiss - please bring the old sticks back because i'll tell you one thing the people where I live will buy so many pairs of the original glenn steeles. I ask you to please consider bringing back the old glenn steeles. My director, myself, and all past and current students will buy so many pairs!
