I love using the remo skyn heads on my toms. They provide an articulate, punchy attack while preserving the drum's gorgeous tone. I would recommend to anyone for general use.

I have used them and have mixed feelings. They look great and tune well, but sometimes seem boxy-sounding. On the other hand, I have played drums with calf heads, and they sounded similar, so I dunno. Can't help but think man-made heads might really BE an improvement over skin..?

Remo heads remain, in my view, the best overall heads in terms of sound, tunability, and durability. The Fiberskyns have a full and warm sound unlike many plastic heads that have a phwapp type of sound. I replaced the heads on a classic 60s vintage Ludwig kit with Fiberskyn 13" and 16" heads. They sound rich and full, especially in a jazz context.

The Fiberskyns have a full and warm sound unlike many plastic heads that have a phwapp type of sound. I use a 12" and 14" Fiberskyn on a classic Gretsch BroadKaster kit (circa 1950).They sound great with a subtle warmth.

The head itself is wonderful, it looks amazing and sounds warm and dark, but it does not fit bass drums with wooden hoops (at least it does not fit my 18" DW bass drum). Not sure how many people have 18-22" floor toms, but I guess they exist...

Nice warm sounding head. Has a punch to it at both high and low tensions! Shipped quick and smoothly.
