remo diplomat fiberskyn 3 drumhead

Remo Diplomat Fiberskyn 3 Drumhead

Remo Fiberskyn Diplomat Drumheads have warm tones due to a poly-spun fiber single layer of 7.5 mil Mylar film. They're known for their warm full tones, resonance, and sustain. The Fiberskyn 3 Diplomat drumhead surface is excellent for sticks, mallets...

The best alternative to calfskin

Comments:

I have used Remo FiberSkyn heads since FiberSkyn2 appeared in the 1980s (see my book The Human Drummer). Anyone who has played calfskin heads has enjoyed a warmth and depth of tone that regular clear or painted plastic heads cannot duplicate, and FiberSkyn 3 comes closest. Since the spun FiberSkyn coating adds to the thickness of the Mylar film, I prefer the livelier Diplomat weight to the less resonant Ambassador or Emperor. I tried the Aquarian Vintage heads (too scratchy for brushwork) and the recently introduced Evans Calftones (which can deteriorate after a single performance), and only the Diplomat FiberSkyn will do. Bravo, Remo!

Looks good...sounds great

Comments:

I have tried a bunch of different drum heads, and finally settled on what I consider the best. Great texture for both brushes and sticks, and they take the bite out of the sound of some other heads. Mellower tone, they hold their tuning and they look fantastic. Knew a girl like that once. Love them both!

Comments:

Nice drum head but not thin enough for a concert/symphonic drum unfortunately!

Remo Diplomat Fiberskyn 3 Drum Head

Comments:

I recently purchased the Pearl Philharmonic Concert Snare Drum and used this drum head instead of the one shipped standard with the drum. With the snare's wooden shell (that produces a dark tone) and this head (which also produces a dark tone) the snare has the vintage sound of the old field drums and this drum head is my favorite (apart from actual calfskin) because of how wonderfully the imitation of real calfskin is done by Remo. They are surely masters of their craft!

nice heads if you want a nice old fashioned semi-calk warm sound. I use fiberskyn3 dips on the bottoms.
