Black Swamp crafts their woodblocks from select grade rock maple—the best available. The grain is oriented vertically on the soundboard, making them more resistant to cracking and splitting, resulting in the most consistent and highest quality...
Our grandson loves it and is anxious to order the other sizes as well!

Black Swamp Wood Blocks
Comments:
This family of wood blocks sounds first rate. Really nice sharp, rich "Thwack!" Excellent craftsmanship and finishing. Heirloom quality instruments to pass along to younger musicians in the family.

Black Swamp Rock Maple Woodblock
Comments:
These woodblocks have a full, rich, hollow wood sound. They are "must haves" as percussive accents for any action-type, or oriental, film score.

Great option without a huge price tag
Comments:
Very compact size, clear sound without being too bright. Cuts through large ensembles very well. Good choice for pros or schools!

Knock on Wood
Comments:
If you are serious about getting quality instruments for your own private percussion collection, these are a must have! They sound great, they are sturdy, they look beautiful, and most important, they get the job done. Be careful when playing unmounted, because the smaller the block, the greater the chance that repeated striking will cause it to start moving around, and possibly fall. Had that happen already with the "tiny" block, but that solid little thing still sounds fine!
