These bags are of exceptional quality, and obviously the price is unbeatable! Just purchased three more to facilitate a move, making a total of 10 of these bags ranging from 24 inches to 40 inches and every one of them has helped me out immensely in portability and providing exceptional protection for the cherished instruments. Each bag is strong enough and well-made, enabling storage and transport of anywhere from 2 to 10 gongs nesting. For example, although being heavy the 40 inch bag easily transports 40 inch and 36 inch wind gongs as well as a 32 inch chau At the same time. I highly recommend these for transporting gong, cymbals, or anything else that they can accommodate. Steve Weiss music is simply the best in every way! I wish there was one available to accommodate my 52 inch chau. If there was, I would certainly already have one.

This bag is a higher quality than the website photo would suggest. Nicely padded and easy to carry, it's a very good value at this price. I will be using it to store and carry an awkwardly sized piece of equipment for live events production (not a gong, sorry), which is an environment that is very harsh on equipment of all kinds, and I expect it to handle the job easily.

Alternative use for gong bag

I purchased this 80cm Gong Bag as a way to protect my handcrafted crokinole board. I'd heard from members of boardgamegeek.com that the gong bags sold by Steve Weiss are the best buy for the money, and I've got to agree. The bag is well padded, and should protect my heirloom tablegame well.
I do wish that there was a small zippered compartment in the bag in addition to the main area, but that's just quibbling.
A great purchase delivered promptly. I'm glad to recommend this company and product.

Please don't hesitate to buy this bag! It is fully padded and feels very secure. The zippers are very rugged, and they unzip practically the entire way around. You can load the tam tam flat and zip-up on the ground. There are a pair of long shoulder straps that are well padded in the middle, as well as a handle in the middle of both the front and back sides. This beats wrapping my tam tam in blankets!
