The Humes & Berg Grip Bag free-standing bag puts all of your mallets and sticks within easy reach. The weighted, molded plastic base allows the Grip Bag to stand up straight even when empty. The entire top of this cylindrical bag opens up, meaning...
I have been using it for a couple months now, and it is amazing. I was recommended this by a youtuber, a director, and fellow classmates. They were all telling the truth in how this thing is amazing. It holds about 20 - 30 pairs of mallets and sticks depending on the size of mallets, and is really light to carry. The shoulder strap feels overall pretty good, and there is extra pockets on inside and outside to carry accessories.
5/5 would recommend for any percussionist

Wonderful
Comments:
This is basically the only mallet bag I use nowadays.
I was in need of a new bag, as my old one broke, and after seeing Adam Tan's review of it, I was instantly convinced.
If this doesn't appeal to absolutely everyone, I have no clue what will.

Great but...
Comments:
Awesome bag until the zipper linings break. Love the storage compartments and the fact that it can double as a mallet holder since it's free standing, but the last two I've owned have had the zipper lining completely come apart or wear out after 2-4 years. Too bad - otherwise a great bag

best stick bag ever
Comments:
This was recommended to me by my cousin, a professional drummer who has been playing for 20+ years, stating it was the best stick bag he has ever had. My son, also a professional musician, is getting into drumming and was really impressed with this bag. Great purchase!

Humes and Berge grip/mallet/stick bag
Comments:
Neat bag. I am not so much of a percussionist anymore. I use it for drum set sticks/brushes. I like that is stands it's self upright, easy to grab what I want to use. I have used a regular stick bag with straps on the tension rods...this bag is not touching the drum at all!

GREAT bag!
Comments:
Ever since a student of mine walked into my studio with this bag, I've wanted one. It holds TONS of sticks, mallets and has dividers and several compartments for incidentals.
Best part, my timpani mallets do not fray in transit because the are not rubbing against the interior lining of the bag.
A MUST for the serious percussion student or professional educator/musician.

Great Bag, a little small
Comments:
Great quality bag, love the stand up design. The zipper on the top can hold a lot of things too. The only problem i have with this is that the insides unvelcrow, but you cant remove them, so that's a little bit annoying. and it doesnt fit near as much as I thought it would, but I'm a huge overpacker. Grest bag, suggest it for anyone

This is the bag you want (and need)
Comments:
Unfortunately I had purchased a mike balter mallet bag for not too much less than this, but way less effective than this bag. The mb bag was formless and pretty much useless for protecting your mallets. You might as well throw them in a plastic grocery store bag and save the money to buy this real mallet case.
This H&B bag does the job of protecting your expensive mallets with a relatively firm shell and 4 separators to give you some degree of organization. Plus there are several pockets to store smaller items. What someone thought was a cell phone pocket on the strap serves to hold a metronome or tuner.
All in all I would buy it again (for sticks/timpani mallets) although you could fit quite a few sticks/mallets in just one of these.

Incredible Travel Case
Comments:
The college and prep studios at my music school are pretty linked, and I know that most (if not all) of the percussionists in the college studio have at least a couple of these for all of their gear and two weeks into owning one myself I totally got why. I've been alternating between this and the SKB case for a little over a year now, but I just keep coming back to this one because it's so portable, which is perfect for traveling because my SKB can't fit in the overhead on planes but this can even fit in another duffle bag and slide easily on top. One of the best investments I've made.

Absolutely Phenomenal!
Comments:
This bag has just about everything someone could need. I got this mallet bag because going from high school to university, my mallet collection was increasing in size and folding stick bags just wouldn't cut it. This bag has room for around 20-30 pairs of mallets and the pocket in the top of the bag has room for anything you could need from earplugs, drum keys, tuning blocks etc. The bag is very sturdy and has no problem standing up with any number of mallets or sticks in it and most importantly it protects mallets that you're storing in them. This bag is the best you can find if you're taking percussion seriously in high school, or plan to take it seriously at a post-secondary level.

Better than the P-Bag
Comments:
This bag is super sturdy, holds all kinds of mallets (timpani, keyboard, SD sticks) and it stands up for easy access. For those who remember the P-Bag, this bag has all of the quality of that bag but with a much better price. Highly recommended.

A bit on the pricey side, but definitely the best container I've found for keeping my collection of sticks and mallets sorted out and readily accessible.

High Quality Silo Mallet/Stick Bag

This product allows for excellent organization of mallets and sticks. It also protects mallets from bending by standing vertical on its solid base. I would recommend this to any percussionist that has outgrown a soft stick bag.

Great Standing Bag
Comments:
I recently purchased this bag for drum set use. I wanted something that sits on the floor next to me and can fit various length mallets and sticks. This bag is perfect! It has a weighted bottom, so there is no threat of tipping over. There are 4 adjustable compartments in the center that can fit sticks, keyboard mallets and timpani mallets. It is roomy. It has a few small zipper pockets for drum keys, etc. Also, it has an adjustable carrying strap. It is well built and should last a life time with normal use.

Very good, almost great, stick bag
Comments:
This is a great product except for the small netted area inside the lid - t's pretty much useless. Everything I set inside it falls into the bag itself when the bag is closed and being transported. If they had put a tab on it to keep it closed this product would be perfect.

Fantastic!
Comments:
So far, this is exactly what I was looking for. Great for travel and concert gigs. This is not going to hold everything you own, so you have to know what implements you prefer and limit it a little. Currently, I have loaded with 3 sets of 4 marimba mallets and a pair of bass marimba mallets, 6 pairs of various drumsticks, a pair of brushes, 5 pairs of various xylo mallets, a pair of bell mallets, a pair of vibe mallets, and a pair of timpani mallets, as well as some necessary accessories (timpani mutes, moon gels, pencils, tuner, time key, drum key, etc.), and I have room to spare. The bottom is weighted so it stands up on it's own when open, even empty or lightly loaded. However, the weight increase from the weighted bottom is negligible, because even when it's as loaded down as I have it, it's not overly heavy. You can tell they put a lot of thought into the design of this bag. Time will tell on durability, but everything seems over-engineered or heavy duty, so I don't think it will be a problem. Also, the weighted bottom is plastic and holds it shape, but the rest of the case is semi-firm, so it will give if you pile a bunch of stuff on it. I don't do that, so it's not a problem, but some people want things they can run over with a car.

A MUST HAVE
Comments:
As a percussion major this bag comes in a lot of handy when I don't want to lug around my whole collection of mallets in my larger bag . I can take it to rehearsals and concerts and keep it right next to me for quick stick/mallet changes when desired; it's great that it stands up on its own making it easier to grab/switch mallets without having crouch down while also keeping your equipment off the floor. I keep drum keys, a tuning fork, moon gel, and other necessities in the pockets which are large enough for temporary needs.
You may have to limit over stuffing this bad however, my first one teared at the top handle but the company sent me a replacement and said the first was faulty.

Don't waste your money on the giant Tuxedo bags. Unless your mallets are made of gold, those plush pockets are useless and only add weight. I can fit everything I have in my tuxedo bag in this case, plus everything is easier to see and reach for, as it has multiple extra pockets and even a place for your triangle beaters! It's lightweight, looks cool and it stands up on its own. It's the orchestral percussionist's bag, all grown up. The only problem with it is that everyone will ask you, confused, why you are carrying a trumpet.

Favorite stick bag so far
Comments:
I have used a variety of stick bags -- some smaller like the DW bag or the small Vic Firth one, and some bigger ones in the same style -- but I can easily say that this Humes and Berg bag is my favorite. Things like comfortable, easy-to-use zippers, a solid, durable base, and various ways to carry the bag help make it great, but of course, it wouldn't be a good stick bag if it didn't have sufficient space to hold sticks and mallets, and indeed it does. Even mallets as long/tall as marimba mallets can fit in, as well as your more typical length stuff such as drumsticks, vibe mallets, and xylo/bell mallets. There is also a mesh pouch on the bottom side of the lid, a pencil sleeve in one of the four divider pockets, space to put your tuner or earplug case or drum key or small metronome, and a place to put your business card on top, signifying it as your bag. Overall, great bag. I highly recommend it.

This bag is one of my favorite mallet bags I have ever used. It has plenty of space for everything you could need in a day plus a small pocket for metronomes, ear plugs, drum keys, etc. I ususally carry 3 sets of marimba mallets, a pair of vibe mallets, 4 pair of timpani mallets, 4 pairs of snare drum sticks, and three pairs of xylo and bell mallets in it with no problem.
