I love these Nyskyn heads for bongos...they are crisp, sound fantastic and dont need to be constantly retuned when the humidity changes as skin heads do...the "but" is make sure you get the right size for your drum. If you are using standard mass produced bongos, no problemo, just check the Remo guide. However, for hand made Artisan drums its pick and miss unless your drum maker has tested and can give you the exact head number to buy.

I purchased the Remo 12.5" Symmetry Nuskyn conga head for my Pearl Travel Tumba. I wanted to compare it to the original Travel Conga head that was distorted in shape.. The result was a warmer, even tone without any ringing. This Nuskyn head is very soft and smooth to the touch. I'm planning to buy two more for my other travel congas.

Was looking for a more ethical choice and even sound for my two congas than animal skins. Great full tones and easy tunability!

These conga head are fabulous. They have a nice crisp, warm sound. They project more volume than a traditional rawhide head. They also feel great on the hands. I have not tried the Remo fiberskyn or skyndeep conga heads so I cannot compare there. But I have used all three types of bongo heads. The skyndeep is crisp loud and higher pitch, the fiberskyn has more twang and character, while the nuskyn is more warm, full bodied sound. I like all three, but these are great for congas.

These heads transformed my entry level Congas into pro-level instruments: The sound is even and pure, without being too "plastic", and the projection is great. The cherry on top is the ability to grab the drum and play without having to tune up every time, who has time for that? I live in upstate ny where it can be super humid one day and dry and cold the next, the stock heads sounded like crap and just couldn't handle the weather

This conga head not only has a great sound, it's easy on the hands. Don't need to to slap so hard to get a nice clean sound. Highly recommended.
