I bought this head for my snare drum. It has a great sound with both of sticks and brushes. Also, it's easy to tune and it stays in tune longer than a few other calf skin drum heads that I tried before. I ordered another one shortly after I tried the first time on a gig. Wonderful product.

This is one of the best sounding heads I've ever put on my snare. No, the best sounding. But in a year or so I've gone through two of them?! I'm not a smasher and I don't even play that often. So two heads in a year is a lot. I'm going back to the Evans'56.

I have Kentville heads on an entire set and a couple off additional snares. They are the best for sound, quality and durability.

The quality of manufacture is very high, and the head feels and sounds really nice. The hoop doesn't have much extra lip at all, so you may need extra long lug screws. I didn't, but it was a little close on my 14-inch snare. Overall, I love the head, and would put them on my toms too if skin heads weren't so much work to take care of.
